Brooklyn, Brooklyn, BROOKLYN.
Yo. If you ever get a chance to visit New York, do yourself a favor and go to a Nets game. You’ll be glad you did.
Brooklyn fans are so much different than I expected. The streets are so intimidating and so are the people (This is just my opinion, don’t hate.) here. Well, getting to the Barclay Center was a journey in itself but the outcome was so worth it. Not only did I get lost on the subway, but I ended up getting off at the wrong stop and walking three blocks just to find some type of civilization (Legit, I was so scared). Finally, I broke down and hailed the first taxi I could find.
But I made it.
In my mind I thought the fans would be shouting in their New York accents… oh was I wrong! The fans were so welcoming and supportive of their team ( I’m a Knicks girl, but we’ll talk about that later…. silently cries to myself). Side-note: Get the hell off my page if you wanna talk about how badly the Knicks are doing… I don’t care, I don’t care, I don’t careeeeee.
I digress. Not only were the fans on their feet the entire game and calling out plays but they were dabbing and dancing every chance they got. Good stuff, good stuff. I felt like I was in a Hip-Hop music video. Oh, and the groupies…HUNTYYYYY. Everywhere. So much fun.
I’m not gonna post the score, because for once…It was about the experience for me. For once, I didn’t care about the scoreboard, all I cared about was the fact that I was having fun. Here’s the evidence, compliments of SnapChat:
